SFN's Facebook page has hit a milestone of 1500 "likes" today.
Also, after writing to Facebook many times, our page has been redesignated as the FB page for a science website. Our reach has increased, but they are still limiting it because they want me to pay, which will never happen. Still, the comments on posts are well up over what it has been in the past.

Awesome!
One might think FB would want to pay people with popular pages, but apparently it's the other way 'round? Or am I missing something about "reach" as a term of art? |

| You would think so. But if you really want to sell something on facebook, you have to pay a fee to reach all of your subscribers. I guess it works for FB because it hasn't gone away. I've been objecting on the grounds that they didn't have that rule when I set up the page and because we aren't selling a product and so on... They relented slightly on that one. And really, I'm sure I'm not the only one who cried foul on them. It was a bait and switch to those of us who set up pages before the new pay for reach shit became the rule, and especially to those of us who are just sharing information. |
