It's a sneaky, but clean way to get rid of Dawkins if they don't want him there.
But ideally, someone with the ability to get through to Dawkins need to sit down with him and have a serious talk about what is nice and what is bad to twitter. Being such a brilliant man, he can say astonishingly untactful stuff which would have served him better if caught by a PR-filter.
