Hi, FreakCoverJo. A link to profitconfidential.com looks rather spammy, but penny stocks are an interesting topic. They are stocks selling below about a dollar. Wiley investors buy a bunch of such cheap stocks that don't have any air of bad news about them, tout the company or spread a rumor that will raise the value of the stocks, and then as the stock value rises from the disinformation campaign, sell the stock for a profit. Good luck with that.

ThorGoLucky,
Thanks for the update. Actually that was the link I found on internet search which I thought is somewhat good than the others. Anyways I heard that there is a risk in penny stocks and lot of scams hover over these stocks. Is this true? If yes what do you suggest? |

Sounds rather un-ethical if you ask me.
I do own penny stock, but in a bio-tech company with potential to make it bigger than they are today. They have several patents for xylose-fermenting yeast specialized for ethanol production. When using corn, this yeast could increase the output by 40% by also utilizing the hemicellulose fraction of the plant.
Presently, they are awaiting approval from AAFCO for the yeast in animal feed. If they get it, they will be able to use the rest-product from the ethanol-manufacturing as well.

More than 90% of all stock trade is made in speculation purposes. Trying to ride on up-ward trends on fluctuating stocks which are traded for just this purpose is a huge risk. Also, the big sharks are competing to have the shortest/fastest access to Wall Street in order to get their stock information a millisecond faster than the competition so they can place the buy-or-sell order quicker than the other guys. It's also mostly a zero-sum game, for someone to win someone else must lose.
You might as well buy lottery tickets...
I say mostly a zero-sum game, because most companies truly add value to the stock market. So if you want to invest, look beyond making a quick buck on fluctuations. Invest on the growth potential of the company, and make the trade long term.
