"A member of the public, who asked not to be identified, said he made the complaint against Fry..." Doesn't want to be identified? Why, won't his god protect him? Of course, this is a person who believes that an omnipotent god can't protect itself, and needs to be defended by mere mortals. Coward.
There is an old saying that blasphemy is a victimless crime. It is not. The blasphemer is the victim, and when they go to court, I can guarantee that the allegedly aggrieved god will not show up to give testimony. Probably too busy helping someone score a goal.

Bullet dodged:The police in Ireland have dropped their investigation into “blasphemy” committed by Stephen Fry on television, but for a very bad reason. They say they just couldn’t find enough people who were outraged by what he said, as if that should be even a tiny bit relevant. |
