Frank was very busy these last days, because only very recently he opened a 'closed' bilingual forum on his idol, constisting of all of his earlier spam and much much more.
Maybe trilingual, even. One of the headings appears to be in Yorkshire: quote: Jomanda in 't Nieuws
Edit: I posted that before I had scrolled down far enough to discover that he also has German, French, Spanish, and Swedish subforums.
And Yorkshire. |

It doesn't. Check out the forum stats:Our users have posted a total of 220 articles We have 1 registered user The newest registered user is bbaordbeth SFN member Trust me suggested just a few posts ago that FE6666 ("Frank") is "bbaordbeth," so his reposting the forum URL here is nothing more than self-advertisement. |

Hmmmm... Sometimes we think of that as spam. Whatever...

How utterly fascinating. FE6666 has deleted every post he wrote in this thread except the OP, which he edited heavily. |

I was wondering why a thread that hadn't had a new post added in over a week suddenly showed up. Maybe FE6666 is another egroie123 sock puppet... |

Personally, I think that should be a banning offense. We should have to live with all the stupidity we post here, even if we later have to say we were wrong.
Frank is better off now, as the sole member of his own forum. That way, he can't expose his idol to derision.

In the spirit of closing the barn door after the horses have left, I've added putting in some preventive measures (that won't affect all the normal posters here) to our massive site to-do list. No telling when it will get implemented. |

How were you thinking of implementing it Dave?
A blanket ban on deleting content older than x days perhaps? Requiring mod approval?
That might be useful for me too, I might have a look at doing that myself.

I was just thinking of vanishing the edit and delete buttons after so-many days, John. People would still be free to post later corrections, as new posts.
The Straight Dope Message Board prohibited any/all deleting and editing by normal users, to prevent much more egregious abuses of those features. This trick by FE6666 just seems like more of his advertising campaign, because now he doesn't have to modify the copies of his ramblings that he had here. He's centralized his nonsense, and just left links. Call it "object-oriented quackery." |

How about for every edit/delete, one must complete an ever-increasingly difficult logic problem or puzzle, culminating in a wickedly devious game of tic-tac-toe against a supercomputer?
Just an idea.
