According to various news sources, some of the new dollar coins were struck without the motto "In God We Trust" on the side. Apparently, quote:
it's not known how many of the 300 million new coins made it into circulation without the famous sayings on their edges, along with the year and mint mark. One numismatist estimates 50,000. So far, only coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint — go figure — have contained the errors.
They regularly sell on eBay for ca. $50.
So keep an eye out for these new coins!!

I've got to go into town to the post office today. Maybe I'll buy a book of stamps from the machine and use a $20.00. That'll give me a bunch of dollar coins. Just maybe....
I'm sure the coins got pretty well picked over before they were put in there, but, "ya can't win it if ya ain't in it."
