The on-line USA Today notes that Americans get an 'F' in religion. Surprising, given that so many people consider themselves religious.

The include a test to see how much the reader knows. I took it (it doesn't take too long) and scored approximately a 68 (they don't give the answers so I'm not sure if I'm right on all of them; I have questions on two that, if right, get me a 72). I don't know much about Buddhism or Catholicism's "seven sacrements" or I would have done much better. Alas.

How did YOU do?

I got a 74 - Is that passing?

They do give answers, you have to hover your mouse over the question and the answer pops up.

Edited 'cause Pleco beat me to the answers.

Oh, when I was in high school, a 69 was the highest F.

Thanks for the tip re the answers. So I went one for one on my two 'unkowns' but one of those was a two-pointer so I still can add four to my total score and get a 72. That's a low C. Not great, but I still think it's OK-- it's not an F at least!

Depends on the grading system. In my school, a 72 would be a middling D.

94-100 = A (4.0)
93-90 = A- or B+ (3.5)
85-89 = B (3.0)
75-84 = C (2.0)
70-74 = D (1.0)
0-69 = F (0.0)

Bah, yourself. Wiki itself calls your low C "a common example of an American quality index," and not some carved-in-stone standard.

Sheesh, I'm willing to take the D.

Y'know, looking at it from an unbeliever's point of view, the argument might be made that the lower your score, the better you've done and happier you should be. I gotta 74.

That's right, and if you took the test, you flunked, because everyone knows you don't need knowledge, you need faith.

Besides, I know if someone accused me of getting any of them wrong, I can just say that they were reading it out of context.

Thats a BS test like 4 points were dedicated to non-judeo-christian religion.

Targeted to an American and therefore mostly Christian audience - you can't expect christians to actually learn another religions edicts - they might get turned to the Dark Side.

I scored a whopping 34. That would probably be an F in ANY scoring system.
