It appears that the planet itself is not inside the rings, but sitting on top or on in front of them. Maybe this was the inspiration for trying to claim faked photos of Saturn? Thought it was an interestingcoincidence that this new fakery claim came up just a few weeks after this photo was published.

Course, the nay-sayers ignorance of Photography 101 screams out with this one. Easy to see the camera's aperture was opened up a bit to capture the softer light reflecting from the rings, which by doing so caused the brighter direct sunlit surface to blow out. The "floating planet above the rings" effect, again, is Photo 101, as we know. Concerning the lower part of the planet's over-exposure and so-called 'missing' ring detail....the camera can't handle the harsh contrast between the over-exposed surface and subtle ring detail.
One thing the image does give up in that area...look at the lowest part of the terminator (shadow) line, where one expects the curvature of the planet receding away from the sun to 'give up' a tiny bit of ring detail to the camera. Look close, there it is, where expected....

Then that image is an artist work.
  This is another artist work:
  http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/multimedia/images/image-details.cfm?imageID=613
Why did Huygens never take a REAL photo of Cassini?
  Look at this REAL image:

  SHADOW LINES:

THIS IS A REAL IMAGE, BUT THE SHADOW LINES ARE STILL WRONG.
THEY SHOULD BE PARALLEL BECAUSE OF THE ENORMOUS DISTANCE OF THE SUN, BUT THE NASA BUFFOON ARTIST HAS MADE A WRONG IMAGE.
  HA, HA, HA

Isn't there a way to block BigBrain for good? Other than having him shot by the NASA buffoons, that is. |

Try to confute my statement instead of saying ...
Radius of the sun 700.000 km Distance sun - Saturn: 1.492.000.000 km
Take AutoCAD and draw a vertical line 700.000 long. Then draw a horizontal line 1.492.000.000 long. Then draw a line that joins the two points.
  Angular dimension: 0,026 degrees
Thank you for the attention. |

This reminds me, bigballs, you never have answered the question:
"Are there or are there not man-made satellites in Earth orbit?"
  Well, how about it? |

"This is a real image, but the shadow lines are still wrong." That line was worth repeating. All you've done is succeeded in showing us, once again, your lack of grasping simple concepts/imagination.
Bigbrain, with the NASA Saturn image above, you are looking at a sphere (Saturn) with its shadowline projected on a equatorial plane(Saturn's rings). Jeez. Guess you missed out on high school trig, too?
Added....try this at home. Hold a basketball halfway below the edge of your dinner table. Shine a bright flashlight at the basketball from down the hallway. Note the shadow of the ball on the tabletop. Now, do you see the error in your ways?

Why would the shadow on the sphere follow the same lines as the shadow on the flat rings? |

Go to school and study again, you don't understand anything about perspective. Look at the light of the sphere of Saturn. Where is the sun? Almost perpendicular to Saturn rings. SHADOW IS WRONG, REALLY INCREDIBLY WRONG.
  Study, little guy, study again.
Thank you for the attention. |

| There's funny, and then there's really, really annoying. It's quite obvious that not everyone who says things as ridiculous as bigbrain has been banned. We have all sorts of "entertainment" without needing to let those who flagrantly violate our forum rules stick around. |
