There were some pretty bad arguments made in An Inconvenient Truth. Not because good arguments don't exist, however. I saw some "see, here's an inflection point in our graph, x coincided with it, therefore, x caused it." It was pop science, the real science wasn't shown. Good science exists to support the conclusions, but it didn't make it into the movie in parts. I don't think there's enough in the movie to really indicate how much real support the conclusions have if you didn't read further.

The "probability-driven" complaint is nonsense though. I'm not sure what he means by "multifactorial" functions, but I presume he doesn't mean what it means in math, and just means functions with many factors, but that isn't a valid complaint either. (Unless he has a more detailed argument.)

At my work, we analyse our production output quality factors using statistics. And even in that situation, where hard math is applied to actual production numbers, the final result is presented with a probability span and a certainty factor less than 100%.

(I haven't bothered to learn exactly how that work, because those statistics is only mariginally important to my work, but since the application stretches so much farther, I just might.)
