It's damned well high time someone did. quote: Lee Iacocca blasts Bush & Cheney as "clueless bozos" by John Aravosis (DC) · 4/21/2007 12:33:00 PM ET
An excerpt from Iacocca's new book - read the entire excerpt:
Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, "Stay the course."
Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned Titanic. I'll give you a sound bite: Throw the bums out!
You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore. The President of the United States is given a free pass to ignore the Constitution, tap our phones, and lead us to war on a pack of lies. Congress responds to record deficits by passing a huge tax cut for the wealthy (thanks, but I don't need it). The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we're fiddling in Iraq, the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving pom-poms instead of asking hard questions. That's not the promise of America my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I've had enough. How about you?
In the '70s Iacocca salvaged Chysler and managed to pay off the company's debt. He was on the right course then, and still is.
'08 is getting closer day by day -- throw the bums out! ALL of them!! Better yet, impeach the slimy bastards and then charge them for their crimes.

Wow. Cool. Go Lee! No, you're not the only one, but we sure feel like a small group sometimes. |

quote: but we sure feel like a small group sometimes.
It seems that we are microscopic.
Dems cower in fear of the republican spin, so much so that they refuse to take a strong stand on any issue.
W has done enough to deserve impeachment a dozen fucking times. But the dems are such pussies. Its almost as if they are not capable of defending themselves in an articulate cogent manner when the republican spin machine starts up...
Oh, wait.... "I voted for the $87B before I voted against it.."
Nevermind....
Until enough people get pissed off enough to overthrow the two party nonsense we have going now, nothing will change. Dems will continue to be whimps, republicans will continue to be ethical reprobates, and the balance of public opinion will continue to be easily swayed by childish, infantile, moronic, playground rhetoric.
But that isn't going to happen until something 10x worse than Katrina happens to us. Like sea levels rising rapidly by several feet, or invasion by a foreign power. It will take something hard like that to stir the majority from their complacency, to convince them to look beyond the spin.

I dunno. Lee Iacocca epitomizes corporate America, therefore he can not be trusted. |

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend," eh?
That should not be taken to mean that I'll give him my credit card. But then, I can't think of anyone else I'd give it to, either.
Keeping the whole thing in perspective, Iacocca has always seemed a cut above his peers, in act and deed.
