Over at TPM-- a site I read regularly, they have a post suggesting thatquote: the 'architect' of the political success of George Bush and the GOP — which relied heavily on cultivating the support and loyalty of Evangelicals, Christian conservatives, and megachurches from coast to coast
may be an atheist.
While it wouldn't surprise me, it would certainly be interesting!

All I can say for sure is that he is a amoral scumbag and I hear that is one of the qualities of atheists, so there you go. |
"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini |

This kind of thing should come as no surprise. There are all kinds of atheists, just as there are all kinds of believers.
We could, perhaps, start a Rogues Gallery of Bad Atheists, just as food for thought.
Perhaps Rove will become part of that very small percentage of the prison population that is atheist. That would make him special.

NPR's Fresh Air interviewed Wayne Slater, author of "Karl Rove, The Architect". Caught it while at work. He mentions about Rove being agnostic, and of his homosexual step-father. Go figure. Listen to the archive audio stream at the link above. |
"We are all connected; to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, to the rest of the universe atomically."
"So you're made of detritus [from exploded stars]. Get over it. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what nobler thought can one cherish than that the universe lives within us all?" -Neil DeGrasse Tyson |
