Dihydrogen Monoxide know perils:
* Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities. * Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage. * Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects. * DHMO is a major component of acid rain. * Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns. * Contributes to soil erosion. * Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals. * Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits. * Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes. * Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions. * Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks. * Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S. * Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell |

DHMO is the most abundant greenhouse gas. I propose a DHMO tax to prevent MMGW.

Perhaps you should include the link to the site you plagiarized this old joke from, Jerome.

I'm sure Mr Way would appreciate some minimal effort at citation.

Such a claim should be used with an understanding of the charge.
Intellectual dishonesty is the advocacy of a position known to be false.
Did I advocate a position? NO

Did I advocate a position? NO | By not crediting the piece to its author, the position you were advocating - intentionally or not - was that you wrote it. That's what plagiarism is, and why it's intellectually dishonest.
But you know this, or we wouldn't have gotten the "naughty" smiley. |

Dave said "That's what plagiarism is, and why it's intellectually dishonest."
No, Dave they are two different things. I freely admitted plagiarism(in fact it was implied), the intellectually dishonest claim does not fit.
Please understand the term you use before typing. The internet has many recourses for discovering the meaning of various things including phrases.

Plagiarism.org agrees with me that plagiarism is an act of fraud. That you admitted you committed fraud doesn't mean that you did not commit fraud, it means that you agree that you did commit fraud. |

Dave, I did not commit intellectual dishonesty. The conversation would be more coherent if you responded to what I write rather than what you think I wrote.
