I guess they should add a "you are on this floor right now" to provide a greater frame or reference?

Actually, the "Are" in the elevator button photo implies a certain degree of here-and-nowness.

What really gripes me about the elevator button sign is how that observation collapses the wave function of all the other wonderful potential possibilities into the mundane present-here. I prefer to think that I might be on a secluded South Sea beach in 1962 with Marilyn Monroe. Spoil-sports.
