One of the greatest strengths of science is its contentiousness, making it a powerful, self-correcting engine of discovery.
I do find it amusing that the the best the scientists pious frauds over at DI can come up with is, "Look! The paleontologists are unsure about a detail of human lineage!" DI and it's ilk have a low tolerance for anything but one Truth, and would like to portray this key strength of science as though it were a weakness.
Science may (or may not) eventually remove habilis from consideration in our direct lineage, and replace him with a yet unknown ancestor. Creationist liars hope to be seen as though they had a scientific alternative, while offering... nothing but a lump of clay as our 6,000-year-old ancestor.
(And they laugh at "warm pond" abiogenesis!)

Only 2 posts in and creationists were brought up. No mention of them in the article. I find it interesting that there was not much talk about the discovery, but much talk (insults) about the creationists/ID'ers. |

And 12 posts in, sure enough, the prediction was shown to have come to pass. And why not have a little fun ridiculing the ridiculous?

The discovery itself is a big "shrug" from a scientific/skeptic point-of-view, because it's nothing surprising. |
