So, is anyone in the world at all surprised at this?
I've been seeing in our newspaper up here (Edmonton Journal, I believe it was) that are now starting to mention it.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.
Another example of this guy's lunacy here. |

It appears the author believes that the Bushie approach is to include Iran in the already-authorized war on terror, via the back door method of declaring the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (or possibly just the "elite" Quds Force part of the Guard) as an international terrorist organization. That intention may be real.
There's no way that more than a very few US strategists would see such an invasion as being anything but an invitation for resounding US military defeats on the ground, leading to the use of nukes upon Iran. I'll stand on my old statement that any real planned invasion of Iran would be signaled in advance by the sudden retirement of multiple US general staff officers.
What I suspect this may actually be is a way of targeting the Revolutionary Guard in its adventures outside Iran, which would be fine by me. But my confidence that the Bushies will limit themselves to reality-based actions has taken a beating since 9/11/2001. I hope Bush doesn't take us from the Iraq disaster to an Iran catastrophe.
