Love thae article. Agree with much. Although I do beleive there are those out there that can pick up on energy. It's all about energy right? Whether it's placed functionally as in a body or displaced as in death. Energy cannot die. So maybe some people's brains can pick up on this energy, transmit. It's like a radio.
Now some of this energy these people pick up do I beleive they are conscious beings who have survived death? Mostly No. Just displaced energy. Most that is. Not all.

So maybe some people can gather energy in their eyes and shoot it like a beam. What is the point of saying, "Maybe"? What is there that you can't say "maybe" to? Not a whole lot.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Just a thought Ricky. Just an idea to bounce around. How do you think we could go about seeing if it's true? or should I sy how to control it? That is a big thing-contol. The phenomenon exist we just don't know how to contro; and replicate it. Not yet any how.

Please describe the form and nature of the "energy". Electrical waves, matter or caffeine? Can it be measured in an oscilloscope?

BTW, I also get some energy in the morning from mocha coffee.

No, it's all about cold reading. It involves playing on mathematical probabilities, understanding body language, being a keen observer and taking advantage of the observations, using subtle information fishing techniques, and other equally natural methods for acquiring knowledge about people. There are many sources available on the subject, possibly even as near as your local library. Anyone can learn the methods, and most people could probably pull it off convincingly if they have average acting skills or better. Nearly everyone may even use a bit of it now and then without conscious realization, but it's still not about energy. It's about cold reading.

And the fact that no "energy" is involved in cold reading makes the rest of your comment moot.

Hi Storm and welcome back! And thanks for the kind words regarding the Cold Reading piece.

As GeeMack said, it's about cold reading and I sometimes wonder why so many people sell the human intellect short. We don't need to "transmit energy" nor to receive it. We do just fine using our physical senses to pick up on whatever our friend/foe/victim might be thinking or doing, or has done, and even the dullest of us is very good at it. We have to be just to advance or indeed, survive in our society: "Ooh, the boss looks pissed!" is cold reading at it's simplest, and John Edward & the ilk demonstrates it at it's most viciously effective.

Now then, and I think we've been over this before, if you can show that such energy transmission occurs, James Randi, with a cool mil in his waiting-to-be-picked pocket, would be very interested in talking with you.

Anyhow, happy to see you back and delighted to hear that you are doing well.
