"teenagers and morons" seems apt for unreviewed, low-budget horror flicks, but if what I've read about Expelled is even close to correct, the teenagers will find their intelligence unforgivably insulted. The morons will continue doing as morons have always done, et suffira jusqu'ŕ la fin du temps.
I am starting to wonder if this will not turn out to be a flash in the pan. I'd say it'll almost certainly be in the long run. Indeed, concievably, it could end up doing more damage than benefit to ID.

It's the last paragraph in that Times article that spoils an otherwise "good" and probably accurate review. |

| Yeah, but I got a bad vibe right from the initial sentence:
There is nothing so tiresome as an argument that no one will ever concede--particularly if the participants don't seem to know it. | Right away the reviewer is placing himself "above the fray" and acting as if the Religious Right's attack on science--and the subsequence defense by honest scientists--is a "tiresome" squabble among stubborn children. Give me a break. What a tool.
I guess the good news is that such an ignorant reviewer still panned Expelled.

PZ Myers is asking bloggers to pump up the Google exposure of the "Expelled Exposed" Website by mentioning Expelled in links to the site. (Like I've just now done, as a matter of fact.)

Oh, you mean if we go to "Expelled Exposed", we can get the lowdown on this sham of a film titled "Exposed". |

| I wasn't sure how our linking Expelled would help so I checked Google and was led here to off page factors.
By analyzing how pages link to each other, a search engine can both determine what a page is about and whether that page is deemed to be "important" and thus deserving of a ranking boost. ... Another off the page factor is clickthrough measurement.
| So I guess each time we discover a link to Expelled Exposed we should click it. Or is the clickthrough measure only from the links listed in the search engine search results. |

| Precisely.
We can indeed get the aforementioned lowdown at the "Expelled Exposed" Website. And, by mentioning this, allow more people to come into contact with various truths about the movie, Expelled.

| This also is nothing less than accurate truth. Verily, by both posting the above (the "Expelled Exposed" link), and by clicking through to that link, we work to give that fine site the ability to counter the lies of "Expelled."

Cool. It would be a good thing if Google hits aided people in finding out the truth behind this politically motivated creationist crap which the essays on the "Expelled Exposed" website reveal. |

And for the ditto-heads, there is this:
Ben Stein's Film Blew Rush Away
RUSH: Ben Stein has a new movie out. He brought it by my house Friday afternoon to screen it for me. It's called Expelled. It is powerful. It is fabulous. And here's the premise of his movie. The premise is that Darwinism has taken root, taken hold at every major intellectual institution around the world in Western Society, from Great Britain to the United States, you name it. Darwinism, of course, does not permit for the existence of a supreme being, a higher power, or a God. His interviews with some of the professors who espouse Darwinism are literally shocking. The condescension and the arrogance these people have, they will readily admit that Darwinism and evolution do not explain how life began. One of these professors said it might have been that a hyper-intelligence from another planet came here and started our race. This from some professor either in the UK, I forget where it was, but can't be God. These people are so threatened by the existence of God, they will not permit intelligent design to be discussed. Professors have been fired, blackballed, and prevented from working who have deigned to try to combine the whole concept of evolution with intelligent design.
Ben Stein's new movie is going to open to a thousand screens pretty soon, it's not out there yet. It's called Expelled. But the point of it is that these people on the left are just scared to death of God. It threatens everything. We, on the other hand, recognize that our greatness, who we are, our potential, our ambition, our desire, comes from God, and as part of our Creation, this natural yearning to be free and to practice liberty. That is how we think this country came to be great. It is how we think this country will continue to be great and to grow. |
Count the mistakes. On the other hand, naw, don't bother...

I liked this part:Ben Stein has a new movie out. He brought it by my house Friday afternoon to screen it for me. It's called Expelled. It is powerful. It is fabulous. | Merrian-Webster's Online dictionary defines "fabulous":fabulous
Main Entry: fab·u·lous Listen to the pronunciation of fabulous Pronunciation: \#712;fa-by#601;-l#601;s\ Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English, from Latin fabulosus, from fabula Date: 15th century
1 a: resembling or suggesting a fable : of an incredible, astonishing, or exaggerated nature <fabulous wealth> b: wonderful, marvelous <had a fabulous time>2: told in or based on fable synonyms see fictitious — fab·u·lous·ly adverb — fab·u·lous·ness noun
| A fable is to Aesop as a myth is to Homer. And Rush should know, being such a powerful spinner of fables, himself.

It's wonderful that through this film, so many "reasonable" people (in the legal sense) are publicly equating ID with religion. Sure, we knew this all along, but if another court case occurs where the ID side claims it's not religious, there's all sorts of evidence around now that says, "well, regular adults under no coersion or duress can't tell the difference." |
