In the very midst of researching Norse Mythology while doing something similar with the "Big Daddy?" Chick tract, I ran into this wonderful cartoon from 2004. (You lot may have seen it, but I hadn't.) It proves that science simply can't stand against Old Time Religion on matters of creation, cosmology, or the origin of man. The arguments are every bit as good as those of the Christian Creationists, including the Discovery Institute.

Enjoy!

That's the fact of the matter, isn't it? It seems that 'most all religions run parallel to each other and their final argument to the heathen is mindless force. I have often wondered, but no longer care, how anyone with even approaching normal thought processes could buy such nonsense.

I have never been more insulted by norse mythology internet cartoons!

Looks like Odin won in the end.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell

On the contray, I have never felt more proud of the Norse mythos. I think Odin and Thor could easliy kick the shit out of Jeebus and all the scientists at once( Jävla Helvete, even Loki could solo those semetic sky god clowns). Brings an enormous swelling to my loins and chest and at the same time; the urge to unpack the long-boat from warm storage and do a lil gospel preaching with the sharp end of the hand-axe.

Screw ashes to ashes. Its ash tree to Ragnarök baby.
