It's so much more convincing when the Vatican itself promotes weird apparitions! This one's a shocker, though, as it clearly confirms that the deceased Pontiff is in Hell.
Is this Pope John Paul II waving from beyond the grave? Vatican TV director says yes

This fiery figure is being hailed as Pope John Paul II making an appearance beyond the grave.

The image, said by believers to show the Holy Father with his right hand raised in blessing, was spotted during a ceremony in Poland to mark the second anniversary of his death.

Details appeared on the Vatican News Service, a TV station in Rome which specialises in religious news broadcasts.

Flipping them off if he's in Hell.

Seems to me that it is proof of Hell, the Pope is in it, and that this was a desperate attempt at escape. Unfortunately, his Pope powers aren't what he was led to believe.

It looks like he forgot his cane and is therefore about to fall over.

If you look carefully from the middle and a little to the right, you'll see his cane is in there.

I'm not sure that waving from the fire really depicts a good thing though...

As funny as it is to think of this as a sign that he's in hell, fire is also associated with God. Burning bushes anyone?

First, that could be anybody in that fire. JP2 isn't the only stooped over old dude who ever waved.

Then, I think the key question here that nobody's asked, or made up a faithful answer to, is what the hell would JP2 be doing appearing in a bonfire somewhere anyway??? In all my experience with dead people coming back (like The 6th Sense and other documentaries), there's always a reason, a message, a something. So what's he back for?

EDIT: Oh, wait. Here's the explanation:

"I was so happy with the picture that I showed it to our local bishop who said that Pope John Paul had made many pilgrimages during his life and he was still making them in death."
JP2 was a creature of habit. Apparently.

This doubtless explains the killer fires now raging in Southern California. Klutz.

No no no. The fires in California are from the Wrath of God. California is caked with sin at it's heart. Burn. Burn damn you.

Hey! It's Too Soon!

I've got family down in San Diego County. They were burned out a few years back. I've been trying to contact them all day. They are probably safe if at home, as their entire area was razed a few years ago, and the brush is not thick. But knowing them, they are probably helping to evacuate friends and strangers from other areas.

Just to see what a big impact the new fire are having, look here (constantly updated):

Please excuse my insensitivity.

They should find a way to regularly burn out the brush under controlled conditions rather than let nature do it in uncontrolled ways. Assuming it is nature and poor urban planning and not God's wrath. Like New Orleans. Was that God's wrath, like the anti-gambling and smutt people said, or was it poor urban planning and a random storm? Is there a difference?

I wasn't offended, but just threw in the "too soon" comment as my own comic reference. What they probably need is an army of goats, grazing around settled areas. This is probably related to climate change, as there are not normally such huge fires within 4 years in the same area. So it's probably both poor planning, and God's wrath.
