Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert (GOP), will announce he will resign from Congress before the end of the year, say insiders.

Dennis "The Hut" Hastert, GOP.

Hastert had previously stated that he would not run for his seat again at the end of his term in 2009.
"I think he is just done with being a member of Congress," a GOP aide said of Hastert, who has just over a year remaining in his term.
Hastert has been plagued by many controversies and scandals, mostly corruption of his own making. Hastert's resignation is long overdue, in my opinion.
