A fossil trackway with reptile tracks has been in found in the Canadian Province of New Brunswick that is a million years earlier than the previous oldest reptile fossil.

Actually, a million years out of the 350 million is not a lot but since the previous oldest reptile fossil is from the Province of Nova Scotia this is probably an important matter of bragging rights.

You can listen to an explanation of why these tracks are evidence of reptiles.

Here is the press release from the New Brunswick Museum

That's really neat. Being "cat sized," those were fairly big reptiles.

Well, it's a little young to be Devonian and it ain't a Bunny, but it's some very interesting trace fossils never the less.

Thanks Ghost!
