I always thought it was pretty funny of God to not only give the serpent the powers of speech like man, but also let the serpent know about the Trees of Knowledge and Life. I wonder if God had not made the serpent that way, if Adam and/or Eve would had chosen not to eat the fruit.
And then when the serpent talked to Eve, God cursed it and made it eat dust like all serpents we find today.
Too bad no one has ever found the flaming sword either. |

The Eden story being what it is, A & E could have been of any race or all of them. After all, they were the base pair for the world's population(s) so, well, genetically speaking, they were the biggest mongrels ever. Which might explain the incest-with-impunity amongst their descendent's.
As for talking serpents/dinosaurs/whatever, it ain't on. The reptilian jaw and throat is incapable of any sound beyond a croak, a chirp or a hiss, and in crocodilians, a bellow. Virtually all of the vocalizations they make are done with an echo chamber often involving the lung(s) itself. They have nothing even resembling vocal chords, nor even have room for such an arraignment.
