I know!! I actually hadn't seen it, but seeing that little white-skinned, Yoda-lookalike practically wish that Dover get hit with a meteorite was comical-- but also a little sick. I mean, how deranged do you have to be?

I found my copy of the New Scientist interview.

Here's a link to the mp3 audio file. It's a 15MB download. The whole podcast is about 30 minutes, the Matthew Chapman interview is only about 10 minutes long, and is the first feature on the podcast.

This find has made me reconsider my recent ponderings on whether or not I should just trash the oodles of serial podcast I listen to. I already delete a bunch that I'm fairly sure I'll never listen to again. A news podcast is almost by definition useless after a small time, except when it isn't.

Damn my hoarder instincts and you people for reinforcing them.

I read it on the New Scientist website (I have access to the full article). Thanks for pointing that one out.

I really enjoyed this NOVA. I especially liked they way they took the time to go over the arguments and their counters with the expanded 2 hours show.

I watched "Judgment Day" in all its segments online, and now have preordered the DVD from Amazon. A wonderful documentary. DI's put-downs of it look extremely false after seeing the actual show. The actors in the trial segments didn't seem to change much by use of mannerism or expressions, despite DI's take. On the other hand, the real Phil Johnson and the other ID Creationists got their say, and still looked like the creepy, fanatic dissimulators they are.

Take note: this is what "fair and balanced" is about, Fox News!

As expected, the reaction from cretinist viewers are at pre-school level.

After tonight's program on Intelligent Design it proves that PBS has a "design" of its own — it's one that is driving the country to destruction — your bias is completely counter to history, to the very foundation of our nation and history of nations. Every part from beginning to end had its own objective; completely counter to the Truth which is proven in the rise and fall of nations.

...

It doesn't take a "Rocket Scientist" to figure out that if we, as humans, evolved from monkeys . . . THEN WHY? . . . Are there STILL Monkeys??? We were "Created" by God!!! Pull up AOL now and you'll notice the Gov. of Georgia praying for rain, (No Doubt to GOD). When 9/11 happened what did every good neighbor do? PRAY. Not to monkeys . . . To our "Creator"!!! It shouldn't take tragic and desperate circumstances for people to realize this fact!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! In GOD We Trust!!!

...

Recently I watched your commentary on the Dover debate over evolution vs. intelligent design. I believed that your report of it was quite biased, as it ignored many scientific arguments affirming intelligent design. Teaching this theory in school would not be establishing a religion in America, hence being unconstitutional, but would give students the opportunity to see both sides of the argument. I appreciated watching this commentary, but I believe it could have been presented in a way that did not show such bias.

Hey, here's the entire NOVA program ready for on-line streaming!

I just finished watching this.

Once again I am dismayed at the dishonesty, viciousness, hypocrisy and callousness of the creationists...

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Yeah Simon, it's terrible isn't it. The fight continues...here in Texas among other places, our dipshit creationist governor has appointed the Texas Board of Education with a number of fucking creationists mouth-breathing zombies.

Last year, the TBOE science director was fired for mentioning in email on a lecture on ID. wedge. Believe she is bring suit against the state for wrongful termination.

Edited to add wiki.

Wow, more bad news about Texas education...

How is the debate within the Texas board of education going by the way? Is anybody following that?

Simon, here's Texas Citizens for Science take on the situation. Check out their catchy slogan...
"What Texas Schools Need Is a Moment of Science!"

Another (rather lengthy but interesting) read is from the Austin Atheist's Blog from last November
covering the Texas SBOE hearing on science standards.
