The Mayor of an Arkansas town resigned on Wednesday, claiming he was abducted and brainwashed by Satan worshippers nearly three decades ago.
Centerton Mayor Ken Williams said he has been living under an assumed name for nearly 30 years. He had been mayor since 2001. |

I wonder what the guy was really running from, and what he wants to get out of his bizarre story. Can't say I care very much, though.

Sounds like he's a schmuck who abandoned his family (for whatever reason - couldn't stand his wife, couldn't handle the respnosibility, wasn't ready to grow up yet, met some hot chick, etc) and took on a new identity to get away from paying child support and all the ugliness that goes with a failed marriage. Why he started a web site about his old identity could be simple vanity or curiosity about what happened to the people in his former life. I'd bet money he didn't think anyone would or could make the connection between him and the web site. Faced with his past life catching up with him and destroying his current life he concocted the whole Satan abduction story to cover his ass. That's better than having to admit what a dick he was to his first family. He's just an asshole runaway dad who was stupid and got caught.
EDIT: Looking at his web site, it was vanity. What a moron. |
