Rather sad, isn't it. If so many of these people weren't so downright vicious, you could almost feel a little sorry for them. Almost....

What it is, all of their "science" must agree with their book of myths & ledgends, making it impossible to actually do genuine science. Therefore they can only twist & spin the words & works of those who actually do serious scientific studies. And thus, they have raised quote-mining to the level of an art form. As for the honesty, or the lack thereof of it, they don't care. To them, they are courageously defending God's word and the means employed are irrelevent.

That's a lot easier and less expensive than actually setting up laboratories and working in the field. Also less risky; if they did honest science, The Book might soon become little more than an oddity found in a library, and of interest to few other than those who study folklore.

Then there is the financial aspect of it. Well-primed believers can be milked like a dairy herd, as Ken Ham nicely demonstrates with his Creation Museum silliness, which was entirely funded with the donations of the deluded to the tune of 27 mil, and every dime it brings in to the AiG coffers from those same deluded believers is tax exempt. What a honey of a deal!

Y'know, if there actually were a God, I suspect that by now he/she/it would be pretty, damned pissed.

Lying, abuse, even killing is allowed -- nay, commanded -- by God as he is interpreted by such pious liars.

From that page:
After reading these words from evolutionists, would you say the evidence points more towards spontaneous generation and evolution or divine creation?
Of course, the author hasn't presented any evidence, just a bunch of mined quotes. But that stuff is old hat.

Slightly more interesting is the author's take on how atheism violates scientific laws:
The laws of science falsify the notion that this physical, living world came to be through natural means. These laws provide very credible evidence for the possible existence of a supernatural being. Atheism violates these basic laws of science. Atheism requires not only a tremendous amount of faith but also a belief in miracles. And not only miracles but natural miracles, an oxymoron. Both naturalism and supernaturalism require faith and which one you place your faith in is one of the two most important choices you will ever make.
But it's still pretty old, because it boils down to the ancient "if you can't explain it, that means you must believe it just 'poofed' into existence" lie.

And the "Note to Mockers" is nothing more than a bunch of Bible quotes. Lazy, lazy.

The ICR sells a book of mined quotes with directions on how to use them, written by Henry Morris:

That Their Words May Be Used Against Them
Compiled from over 50 years of study by Dr. Henry M. Morris, acknowledged to be the father of modern creationism. *Nearly 3,000 quotes from evolutionists divided into 15 chapters and 45 sections.

Oh yeah, they love their misquotes

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

One of their bigger lies is calling themselves 'scientists'; they are not. All that their degrees prove is that they did some science in university in order to get the degree, but now that they restrict themselves to supernatural explanations they are no longer doing science and have abrogated any right to be called scientists.

No, there has not. Every one of them has only religion to inspire their research and that, by it's very nature, dictates that anything which contradicts it's "sacred word" must be denied. It's amusing, really, the torturous efforts to replace reality with myth.

Henry Morris was a vile, old man who has finally and at last done the world a favor by becoming a dead, old man. His corpse is not yet cooled sufficiently to qualify for my signature, but then, he is not really interesting enough to achieve that honor anyway.

Not even the freakin' Pope is immune!
The Pope condemns the climate change prophets of doom

By SIMON CALDWELL Last updated at 14:48pm on 12th December 2007

“Pope Benedict XVI has launched a surprise attack on climate change prophets of doom, warning them that any solutions to global warming must be based on firm evidence and not on dubious ideology. The leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering.

The German-born Pontiff said that while some concerns may be valid it was vital that the international community based its policies on science rather than the dogma of the environmentalist movement.

His remarks will be made in his annual message for World Peace Day on January 1, but they were released as delegates from all over the world convened on the Indonesian holiday island of Bali for UN climate change talks.

The 80-year-old Pope said the world needed to care for the environment but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind. . . . ”

Doesn't this pathetic dipshit realize that plants & animals are crucial to our own survival?

To see it in context, go here. Linkie -- ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chances.

I thought that, apart from the usual & expected, Catholic preachings, his thoughts on the enviornment and our place in it were pretty reasonable. After all, unlike the Discovery Sanitorium Institute, he does support the science.

Looks like the popes train of thought stopped short of final destination. Dementia must be setting in.
