So, this intolerant and intolerable piece of cracker-whelped white trash now is talking about Constitutional amendments even before he is within sight of office. He wants bring us all in line with God's standards, whatever those might be interpreted as.
Huckabee wants the Constitution to match ‘God's standards'

Posted January 15th, 2008 at 1:34 pm

The United States Constitution, the foundation of our system of government and a model for the world for more than two centuries, is an entirely secular document. It doesn't mention God or any specific faith tradition, it only mentions religion at all to separate church and state.

Apparently, that's not quite good enough for Mike Huckabee.
Yeah, right! These sick bastards squeal about spreading democracy and yet attack the very document that guarantees it to us, and is a model for that very philosophy through the world.

I do hope that he gets the Republican nomination. I want to see him go down in flames, rather than merely get cast by the wayside.

Doesn't surprise me much. We know he is delusional and in denial of reality on several issues already, so why not add the US government's instruction manual to the list of things he doesn't (or refuses to) understand.

If he gets elected, I'll need to add a 2009 prediction when we start that thread next year: He and his VP will both be assassinated and Pelosi will be president.

Dude.....

I sincerely hope you are more accurate than Sylvia! If Huck the Fuck is elected, I'll seriously consider doing the deed myself! The more that comes out on this oleaginous 'whoreson beetle-headed flap-ear'd knave' (from the Bard), the more totally repugnant he looks!

I like it, personally: It's a tacit admission that the Constitution is a secular document that strives to guarantee rights to all, regardless of religion or lack of it. Usually, the fundies try to pass off the lie that the Founding Parents (many of whom were Deists, agnostics or atheists) wanted a strictly Christian nation.

That's what I was thinking...we can save that article for when they make that claim. And this time, unlike when in the 1800's when some xian preachers were complaining about the constitution being too secular, it's too recent for the religious right to ignore.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Our friend PZ has some thoughts on Huck:
Huckabee is a raving lunatic

Category: Politics
Posted on: January 15, 2008 4:52 PM, by PZ Myers

Here's his latest suggestion: that we we amend the Constitution to be more biblical.

"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

Whoa.

We have a candidate who openly wants to make the US a religious state, and he's the frontrunner on the Republican side. There are a large number of people who want this demented fuckwit to run the country. And the pundits of the news media are sucking their thumbs and watching; here's what one commentator had to say:

Geist further noted of Huckabee that if "someone without his charm," said that, "he'd be dismissed as a crackpot, but he's Mike Huckabee and he's basically the front-runner."

Popularity excuses all affronts, I guess. Did your mother ever ask you, "If your friends jumped off a cliff, would you?"

I'm feeling a bit like I'm watching a whole country merrily running towards that cliff right now.
Who knows; could be that this is a refutation of the ToE because the Devonian Huckabunny has been found. Primitive little fucker, ain't he?

And his staff is equally insane:
Huckabee Aide: Defend "Christendom" and Put a Cop in Front of Every Mosque

By David Corn | January 15, 2008 10:28 AM | Permalink | Comments (3)

Over the past few months, Jim Pinkerton, my regular sparring partner on Bloggingheads.tv, has regularly rushed to the defense of Mike Huckabee. When I wondered aloud whether Huckabee really does believe that angels intervened when he was in a hunting contest (to help him kill an elk), Pinkerton pooh-poohed my secularistic skepticism. When I uncovered a little-known 1998 book in which Huckabee lumped together environmentalism and pornography, seemingly compared homosexuality with necrophila, and insisted that people who "do not walk in faith" tend to be "immoral, impure and improvident," Pinkerton claimed I was taking the former Arkansas governor's comments out of context. (I begged to differ.)

So it did not come as a shock when I heard that Pinkerton, who was a domestic policy adviser for the first President Bush, had suspended his career as pundit to go to work for Huckabee's presidential campaign.
Say, I have an idea! Lets station a cop at the mosques and a member of the Mutaween in front of all the Christian fundementalist Holy Rolls. That way, they'll keep each other occupied with screaming about religious persecution -- and rightfully so, turnabout being fair trade -- and leave the rest of us alone.

But not to be outdone, Rudy is furiously pandering to those same evangelical monomaniacs.
MIAMI — With his plan for winning the Republican presidential nomination riding largely on a big Florida victory at the end of the month, Rudy Giuliani asked an evangelical congregation for prayers instead of votes and quoted scripture to evoke a message of hope and perseverance.

Yes, he actually pulled his head out of his ass long enough to state this:
"I'm not coming here to ask for your vote," he said Sunday. "That's up to you and it's not the right place. But I am coming here to ask you for something very special and more important: I'm asking for your prayers."
Oh please! Gimmie a fucking break, Rudy.

What a precious field the Republicans are tossing out this year! If I'd been told about this 10 - 12 years ago, I'd have laughed myself sick. But now that it's come around, it ain't all that funny.
