Some pride themselves that they fear no one. Such are fools that just haven't yet met their match. "But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." Luke 12:5

Some fear men or certain men and cower to them, when they should not.
"28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

Some have no fear of God.
"Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?" Matthew 23:33

Some things are so precious to people that like idols, they cling to them and even worship them.
9And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. Matthew 23:15

Some just could care less about anyone but themselves, living the good life.
19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Luke 16:19-31

Some hate the light and call it superstition, but someone knew why: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." John 3:18-21

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:36

The end of God's wrath is hell. What awaits you on your current path?

"Repent and believe the good news!" "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16-17

What a sad collection of absurd ravings. I pity any mind frail enough to be overwhelmed by such obvious nonsense. My hell is a good brain scrubbing at the hands of your death cult, Doomar. I thank my stars every day that I am not so lost as those like you.

More Christian lunacy. There has been plenty since the time when maniac hermits preached from atop pillars in the Syrian desert. How original.

Doomar, did it ever occur to you to adapt, if not your underlying message, at least your presentation? This is a skeptic site, and your "audience" includes a whole shitload of, well, atheists. You sound like a nut, the way you rave to us. Trying in this venue what might pass for a typical hell-and-brimstone sermon in a Baptist church, is as out of place as if Lenny Bruce did his comedy routine in Sunday School.

It might make a lot more sense to begin with some evidence of the mere existence of your gods Yahweh and Satan, rather that to start right out quoting from ancient mythology, trying to scare intelligent adults with fairy tale threats.

Hi Doomar. Welcome back; it's been a while.

Hmm. Hell, eh? Y'know, I've never been given any sort of a satisfactory description of the place. I'm told that it's in the center of the Earth, but that won't do, Eastern European hysteria to the contrary. They drilled a hole, it's said, but let's face it, a 14 kilometer drill-hole is not really all that deep and unlikely to have reached a center-earth Hell. And besides, that space is already claimed, if David Icke has his act together.... Oh, right.....

So that kind'a leaves us at loose ends as to location. I suppose that we can put it down to being a 'spiritual' sort of place, but that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms: Whose spiritually do we credit? It's all very confusing.

But leaving that aside for the philosophers, opium-eaters, 3am alcoholics, and other unemployable persons to puzzle upon, let's look at the soul -- does such a thing exist beyond the natural life that we share with every other organism on the planet? And how do we know, one way or another, which religious version might be correct? Indeed, there was once an interesting madman, one Dr. MacDougall, who attempted to actually weigh souls. It came to naught, probably because Massachusetts is such a liberal state.

These are the sorts of things that lead the thinking atheist to such conclusions as the existence of a soul other than an individual's personal spirituality being so unlikely that it can be simply disregarded. And 'Personal Spirituality' is yet another term open to interpretation and indeed, speculation. At 3am. Me, I don't see such things as worthy of concern.

"There exists in society a very special class of persons that I have always referred to as the Believers. These are folks who have chosen to accept a certain religion, philosophy, theory, idea or notion and cling to that belief regardless of any evidence that might, for anyone else, bring it into doubt. They are the ones who encourage and support the fanatics and the frauds of any given age. No amount of evidence, no matter how strong, will bring them any enlightenment. They are the sheep who beg to be fleeced and butchered, and who will battle fiercely to preserve their right to be victimized." -- James Randi

This is a skeptic forum, not a choir. You should expect to be challenged here. Hell, polite company be damned, you should be challenged wherever and whenever you decide to spout such unsubstantiated nonsense.

Some have no fear of God.

I only fear his worshipers. There is nothing worse than a man with a nuclear weapon who believes that the Rapture is approaching.

Some things are so precious to people that like idols, they cling to them and even worship them.

Like God?

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Holy Horseshit, Doomar, what in the name of the very God you venerate, are you raving about? Endless, unpunctuated paragraphs of biblical quotation is about as boring as watching parishioners pray.

If you have a point to make, an opinion to debate, or even a sermon to pontificate, do it! I might be interested if I had any idea as to what your point is; as to my soul, please tell me what that is and then I'll tell you how concerned I am about it!

Doomer with everyone saying everyone else is going to hell I think you have about the same chance as any one of us of going to hell. I think I am just going to be taking a VERY long nap when I die though.

Doomar, there was a time when you were able to post and argue coherently here. It seems, as time goes on, that you become less and less able to form coherent thoughts.

This latest trolling/spam is probably your worst yet.

Your religious insanity aside, I think you should seek medical consultation with regard to your failing language skills. It could be a sign of a serious medical condition.
