If only you could change that theater to something like AMC or Carmike or Regal. And make the "Now showing" have something current...

Mooner.....

Great work again! Your detail shading is getting superb. Seems to work better in black and white than in color. Understandable, you've just got a greyshade table instead of a jillion shades of another jillion colors to match! But the sepia effect you got in this old faded photo was fantastic!

"Blockbuster" and "Radio Shack" were particularly subtle. You've got a great eye, Mooner!

Re Cune's comment on the theater marqee - "Cloverfield" is currently playing on five screens in this little town of Coeur D'Alene. I don't know how you could get more current than that! Maybe Cune doesn't go to the movies much?

Agree with buck, it's a nice job on the photo...

Oh, really? Oops. My mistake then.

You're right. I actually haven't seen a movie in the theater in two or three years, and have only rented a handful of DVDs in the same span. I have no idea what's currently playing. I don't know why I thought it wasn't a current film-- which I guess is a testament to Mooner's ability to alter the title and have it look like the original!

Fil, all my inspirations, those that don't come from The Simpsons, come from Futurama.

FYI, here's the original:

The movie at the "Atlan..." theater was probably the 1926 film, "That Model from Paris": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017457/

Edit: That was probably the Atlantic Theater, at 205 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. One site has the same photo, but claims it was snapped in 1915. That doesn't jive with the movie on the marquee. The Atlantic began catering to Hispanic audiences during WWII, when large numbers of Puerto Ricans migrated into NYC to work in defense industries. The Atlantic has since been demolished, and a gas station crouches in its place.
