Eh, you're probably right -- a little early for April Fool gags, though.
If it is, I like it. It's simple, easy to grasp, and the easily misled would fall for it like ninepins.

The commenters at Pharyngula seem to think the guy is serious. Let me just say that if he is... he should seek medical attention!
