Hi, to the community. I think that it was good of Rush Limbaugh to express his views on a Black President and to prove that he is not a racist has promoted Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice as strong candidates for presidential status. I think that it was fair on the part of Rush to say about is comments on a black president. I think that we should thank him….shouldn't we?

Welcome to SFN, tomas.
I haven't heard much truth or wisdom from Rush Limbaugh, ever. Pretty much the opposite, in fact. Just what did he say in this instance, the creature?

Hi tomas and welcome!
I don't hear a lot of Rush due to a short-tempered ulcer and am not familiar with those remarks. Could you kindly put up a link?
Race has nothing to do with qualifications -- behold what the Whitey imbecile has done in the last 7+ years -- but I do not think either Rice or Powell would be suitable, judging from their past performance in government. The same holds for Alan Keyes (ye gods!), who is clinically insane.
Much is still unknown about Obama, but thus far, he looks pretty good to me.

A link to the comments in question would be helpfull.
Limbaugh typically has nothing of value to say about anything, he just panders to his ignorant audience. (but hey, they have made him a millionaire)
So provide us those comments, then we can comment.

Every body reading this thread is itching to comment on Tush Limbaw's commentary on anything! So give us a link, or a reference, or copy Rush's quote verbatim, so the dam can break! |

I'm not convinced Rush Limbaugh is the enlightened soul the OP claims. Any good argument won't leave out key pieces of information if they damage the conclusion.
Here's a bit of a transcript from August 22, 2007:
From the August 22 broadcast of Premiere Radio Networks' The Rush Limbaugh Show:
LIMBAUGH: Here's [caller] in Lake Orion, Michigan. Thank you for calling. Great to have you on the EIB Network.
CALLER: Hey, Rush. It's great to talk to you. I talked to you once before. I've been listening to you for a couple of years now, and I think I'm getting brighter, but there's a lot to be learned. I know I'm no expert in foreign affairs, but what really confuses me about the liberals is the hypocrisy when they talk about how we have no reason to be in Iraq and helping those people, but yet everybody wants us to go to Darfur. I mean, aren't we going to end up in a quagmire there? I mean, isn't it -- I don't understand. Can you enlighten me on this?
LIMBAUGH: Yeah. This is -- you're not going to believe this, but it's very simple. And the sooner you believe it, and the sooner you let this truth permeate the boundaries you have that tell you this is just simply not possible, the better you will understand Democrats in everything. You are right. They want to get us out of Iraq, but they can't wait to get us into Darfur.
CALLER: Right.
LIMBAUGH: There are two reasons. What color is the skin of the people in Darfur?
CALLER: Uh, yeah.
LIMBAUGH: It's black. And who do the Democrats really need to keep voting for them? If they lose a significant percentage of this voting bloc, they're in trouble.
CALLER: Yes. Yes. The black population.
LIMBAUGH: Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela -- who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.
CALLER: It's just -- I can't believe it's really that simple.
LIMBAUGH: Well, see, I knew you couldn't believe it. But here's the -- here's one that's even going to be harder to believe and it is even more truthful. Could you tell me what vital national interest, [caller], is at stake in Darfur?
CALLER: Um, I don't know.
LIMBAUGH: Nothing. Zilch, zero, nada. Darfur is not attacking us. Darfur has not said they want to attack us. So they will -- same thing -- Clinton sent the U.S. military off to Bosnia. No U.S. national interest at stake. The liberals will use the military as a "meals on wheels" program. They'll send them out to help with tsunami victims. But you put the military -- you put the military in a position of defending U.S. national interest, and that's when Democrats and the liberals oppose it. And -- |
And what about the comments Rush made regarding Donovan McNabb?
"the media has been very desirous of a black quarterback to do well".
"the sports media, being liberals just like liberal media is elsewhere, have a desire that black quarterbacks excel and do very well so that their claims that blacks are being denied opportunity can be validated." |
There's some other good information at the link before that supports a case that Rush Limbaugh is, in fact, a racist.
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=2549
Those are only a few examples. There are plenty of others. That's why the vague and unsupported comments by the OP leave me entirely unconvinced that Rush Limbaugh isn't a racist.

That was interesting @. A completely vapid argument on Rush's part-- but what should be expect? His McNabb comment was over-the-top crazy, and suggests that Rush is delusional about this liberal media obsession.
Still, I'd be curious to read the transcript regarding tomas' original question. |

Limbaugh is nothing more than a latter day take-off on Lord Haw Haw. He inflames without reason; he lies without purpose. His only inspiration is the huge stipend given him by his radio program and his sponsors. He is a porcine drug addict who takes Viagra to the Dominican Republic for sex holidays with children. And the Viagra wasn't even his own prescription.
Like a filarial infection, he is a parasite of a single host: the huge idiot fringe of conservative America, and like an intellectual version of that infection, he grotesquely cripples the reasoning of all who subscribe to his sewer-spawned philosophy.
Is he a racist? Hell yes he's racist, big-time. Most white trash are.
And that's the way you do links for the benefit of your readers.

I wouldn't be arguing with Rush about the black president issue and neither with Mr. Clinton on this one. I don't think that we should thank Rush for anything but as you said about this news I believe you can also express your views in news related discussions that will get comments on your views.

Why should I bother? Isn't this a perfectly good place to comment and get commented back? Or is your aim just to spam? Posting something controversial, then returning with a new moniker pretending to add further comment and imploring people to visit another site to carry on the conversation is quite transparent my friend.
