No kidding! Some seem to think the spoof is a result of PZ having an overinflated ego. One Creo was quite hilariously offended about "PZ's" "claim" to host the "#1 Science Blog." Typical Creationist lack of scholarship. Of course, PZ Hisself handled it all with his dry humor, giving such folks all the rope they desire.
BTW, I put in the "#1 Science Blog" text simply because "#1" was already on the on the original, and it was easier to add more text than try to extend the background over it, as I had to do -- rather sloppily -- with "Pee-Wee's." (Plus, Pharyngula is arguably the #1 science blog.)
