If the DOE not only accepts dowsing but finances it, should we be at all supprised that the general public believes in it? This is what happens when unqualified personell are appointed to positions that require a little scientific knowledge.
By extention, this is also what makes the Creationests and Intelligent Design wallopers so dangerous. They can find sympathetic ears in places of authority and don't have to look too hard in the doing of it.

The good news at least is this was caught by the DOE itself.
Perhaps Congress should be petitioned to pass a law requiring anyone appointed to a position overseeing science programs to have a science background?

The author certainly doesn't mince words. The "dowsing cabel" at the DOE should be canned. Better yet, I think those individuals owe the taxpayers about $400,000. Lisa

Grrrrrrrr!
quote: Under George Bush, it is Spencer Abraham, whose appointment as Energy Secretary was a consolation prize after he was defeated in his bid for reelection as Senator from Michigan. The Department of Energy, and the nation, deserve better.
Oooooh I am soooo glad we got rid of that creep!

"Passive Magnetic Resonance Anomaly Mapping device."
You got to admit it sounds down right scientific, don't it?
