I can't believe you're all missing the obvious ones: SPINAL TAP CONAN INDEPENDANCE DAY to name but a few.
I believe in nothing; only my scepticism kept me from being an atheist.

Ah, but the name of this thread is "Really Bad Movies Worth Watching". As Conan the Barbarian is a masterpiece of cinema (not to mention the soundtrack is my most beloved CD of all time), it obviously doesn't belong in the list.
Seriously. That movie is so much deeper than popular opinion would have you believe.
(Conan the Destroyer, while I personally enjoyed it, could arguably belong, however )

You know that piece of dialogue in Conan the Barbarian, the one that goesquote:
Conan, what is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of their women.
I read something very similar to that in my Oxford quotation dictionary that greatly predates Conan and I can't remember who said it. Anyone know?

Someone mentioned Omega Man early on in the thread as being a good movie. EVERY Charleton Heston movie was bad, it's just that some were more fun than others. Omega Man was fun, as were the monkey movies. GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME YOU DAMN DIRTY APE!

I found this on a Conan movie fan page:
quote: Conan's response to the Mongol General is an abbrev-iation of a real quote attributed to Gengis Khan: "The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your enemies and chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth and see those deal to them bathed in tears, to ride their horses and clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters."
Maybe that was it?
quote: GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME YOU DAMN DIRTY APE!
For some reason, that set me off into fits of laughing out loud...

Indeed, it was Ghengis Khan. Thanks TD. Although the quote in the Oxford I recall is different from the one you found. I'll have to look it up when I get home.

I never saw Conan, wasn't that with Arnold? As much as I love accents, his is difficult to listen to. But that's besides the point, 'He Man' which I did see was probably a better movie in the same genre. Now for SPINAL TAP, like Tokyo said, this is for Bad movies. 'Spinal Tap' was funny, as it was meant to be. Don't think IMO it's a bad movie at all. There might be some subtleties one might not 'get' if you haven't seen the documentaries it's paroding, could that be the problem? I'd like to know why someone thinks it's a bad movie.

Oddly enough, TechTV is showing this during prime time nowadays. (That is the one with the puppets, right?)

I can't believe that I only just found this thread.
There are many movies I thought someone would have mentioned by now, but I will restrict my personal comments to those I've actually seen.
Fire Maidens of Outer Space; truly, madly deeply, BAD! Imagine, if you dare, a scene just after the typical fifties spaceship lands. Cut to the outside of the ship, looking at one of the then-standard large fins which doubled as landing legs. A cheap aluminum ladder is jerkily lowered by hand so that the crew can descend. I suppose the landing would have been scrubbed if someone had forgotten to nip over to the local hardware store before leaving Earth.
Terror of Tiny Town; The first (and thankfully only) western with an all midget cast. Nuff said?
The Green Slime are Coming!; Released not long after Kubrick's 2001, which made it look even worse than it really was, and it was bad to begin with. Starring Richard Jaeckel (sp), who I believe went on to better things.
And believe it or not I have never seen Phil Tucker's 'Robot Monster', or William 'One Shot' Beaudine's 'Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter'.
But I'm cruisin' them video racks...
Bailey's second law; There is no relationship between the three virtues of intelligence, education, and wisdom. |

I didn't watch every show but it was so funny, what I did see. I guess one could call it somewhat black humor. I think the sceen when Pipper Laurie was tied up holding the Log in a fire, is THE funniest moment(line) in TV history, including anything by Lucy (Ball).

You got me thinking. Have you seen, I think it's called 'The Eye Creature'. Anyway, it's about a giant dismembered eye ball. I think it came from a space ship? But it's staying on a mountian in a fog and killing people as they climb up there. At least that's how I remember it. It was so long ago, I wish I could see it again to really know the whole story. I swear, there really is such a movie!

One of my faves of the ol' hack and slasher barbarian movies had to be "Red Sonja". Brigitte Nielsen was the best part of that movie. The plot was fairly ok. The dialogue was hilarious, if you took the movie to be a comedy.
Anyone remember "Space Giants" or "Jonny Sokko and his Flying Robot"?

Was that the one with Goldar, Silvar, and Gam, the beings who could transform into rockets and lived in a volcano, and they fought the black-clad faceless guys who turned to blue foam when killed, and Goldar, being Godzilla-sized, would fight the Godzilla-sized monster that the villian in his bat-shaped spaceship sent down at the end of every episode?!
I loved that show!
Ch-chhhh, ch-chhhh, ch-chhhh!
[Of course, I just had to do a search on it since I've been reminded of it: http://www.yesterdayland.com/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1685.php . I could have sworn the goo was blue, not green!]

Well, the title was correct but they really didn't say much about the movie. And I don't remember any of the actors who were in it, but that's probably it. All I remember is they were on a mountian and couldn't climb higher because of the Eye Creature. Whoops sorry, I went back and read the plot summary: (Eye Creatures land on earth. The U.S. Air Force spies on some teens making out in the woods, then tries to prevent word of the Eye Creatures landing from leaking out. A couple of teens figure everything out and prevent the Eye Creatures from taking over by shining their headlights on them) And no, that's not what I remember of the movie, it's been a while but that really doesn't sound right at all. Oh well!
I did notice that IMDB said if you liked that movie you would like: Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957) If this is the movie I'm thinking of, they are right. I saw 'Saucer Men' not too long ago on TV and it was so funny. Talking about the Godzilla movies, did anyone mention 'Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster'? Actually the plot or the premise was pretty good, trying to bring pollution to peoples attention.
