Well, the title was correct but they really didn't say much about the movie. And I don't remember any of the actors who were in it, but that's probably it. All I remember is they were on a mountian and couldn't climb higher because of the Eye Creature. Whoops sorry, I went back and read the plot summary: (Eye Creatures land on earth. The U.S. Air Force spies on some teens making out in the woods, then tries to prevent word of the Eye Creatures landing from leaking out. A couple of teens figure everything out and prevent the Eye Creatures from taking over by shining their headlights on them) And no, that's not what I remember of the movie, it's been a while but that really doesn't sound right at all. Oh well!
I did notice that IMDB said if you liked that movie you would like: Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957) If this is the movie I'm thinking of, they are right. I saw 'Saucer Men' not too long ago on TV and it was so funny. Talking about the Godzilla movies, did anyone mention 'Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster'? Actually the plot or the premise was pretty good, trying to bring pollution to peoples attention.

"Stop the polution. Save the Earth."
One of my faves. (And I'm a BIG Soho Godzilla fan. The remakes sucked.)
Flying sludge. Atomic breath weapon used to dry out and kill the Smog Monster.
Loved it.
Then there was Godzilla vs. Mothra with Peanuts singing two versions of the Mothra song.
"Mothuri-yup Mothuri Dondei sasa du yup Dendei mu In e willa Vu Honda honda du yup." - phonetic singing of one of the songs
"Mahala, Mahala u suda Da ma Da ma u suda Ya la" - phoentic singing of the other

Does anyone remember 'Day of the Comet'? That one where the comet passed earth and turned everyone into zombie like creatures. Except the teenagers who were in the film booth making out. I, unfortunately, saw that one in the theater. Same with 'Howard the Duck'.

My least favourite movie would have to be "Behind Enemy Lines" with Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman. WORST. WAR. MOVIE. EVER. Dogma and Independance Day were both okay. Thats all I have to say about that
Uh oh, I'm ranting again... |

Ok, I can't remember from the earlier posts but I wanted to add a movie I saw today and hadn't seen since I was a kid.
Remember that crazy guy who did parodies of songs, "Weird Al?"
Yeah well he made this really dumb movie called UHF.
It's not the best movie in the world but I laugh every time Stanly Spadowski says to the kid "..and you know what that means!! YOU GET TO DRINK FROM THE FIREHOSE!!"
Raul's Wild Kingdom, Conan the Librarian, and Wheel of Fish are pretty darn funny too.

The actor who played Stanley on UHF was none other than Kramer himself, Michael Richards.
Best line in the film: "Supplies!"

That was a fairly recent (not more than 5 or 10 years ago) movie, wasn't it? There was a lot of hype for it. I never saw it but heard it wasn't that good. |

Sorry to bring this thread up again, but I couldn't find DEATH RACE 2000. Come on that's a 'B' rate classic. |

Perhaps this isn't fair since I've never seen him act, but CAN he act? He's too ulgy to look at to watch any movie he's in. (same as Julia Roberts, strange ulgy. Fat lips and droopy eyes, how ever did he get acting parts in the 1st place? |

Well, I have let this go for long enough. A really bad movie that is painful watch (except for maybe one or two scenes) is Antonioni's "Blow Up." It is about a photographer who accidentally photographs a murder. He figures this out by blowing up photos he took in park. Not a bad premise. It's all downhill from there.
I remember seeing this movie in the sixties and in that context I was either too young to notice that it was a piece of crap, or the movie just fit the time. It did not age well.
Symbolism abounds. Not that that is a bad thing, but mimes? For christ sake there are mimes all over the film. Mimes playing tennis! They are as out of context as Bela Legosi is in "Glen or Glenda" but not as funny or entertaining, even considering the over the top badness.
The woman in "Blow Up" are simply objects to be fucked and then thrown off like so much flotsam. And there is a lot of fucking and throwing off in the movie. Real brainy stuff.
There is a good scene in the movie. The protagonist (David Hemmings) visits a night club where the Yardbirds are playing. You get to see Jeff Beck breaking a guitar. Hemmings fights for the neck of the guitar and gets it only to throw it away when back out on the street. Out there it's just a broken guitar. As symbolism goes, this was as good as "Blow Up" gets. ( I would have kept that neck. It was Jeff Beck's broken guitar!!!)
Anyway, I felt it was time for me to break my silence about Snakes favorite movie. Sorry Snake. |

I don't care who you are, if you like British humour.... Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. It's the absolute best on DVD, especially with all the extras.
I don't know how many wonderful quotes from that movie are worth remembering.
"How do we tell if she is a witch?" "Witches burn." "Ahhh, but what also burns." "Wood." "So how do we tell if she is made of wood." "See if she floats." "Yes, but what also floats." "A duck!" "Yes exactly. So, logically, if she weighs the same as a duck, she is made of wood, and therefore she is a witch."

Your in the wrong section bub. "Really Good Movies Worth Watching" is down the hall.

You know, I think I remeber one of our "one-hitter-quitter" friends making the same claim. |
