Yup, Lars, Battlestar Galatica the movie was the TV series cobbled together. Silly.
Have to agree with Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Not a movie, but Red Dwarf is hillariously bad.

"Repo Man"
Great soundtrack, too. The movie reminds me of Pulp Fiction with the whole 'what's in the trunk?' thing going on. Perhaps Emilio Estevez' greatest role, though that's not saying much.

"Remo Williams", however, is an RBM, and is also great fun. The star is the same guy who plays Kevin Bacon's friend in "Tremors."
That was the fine actor Fred Ward. Personally, I don't think he gets the credit he deserves.
I recently picked up "Buckaroo Bonzai" on DVD. It brought back a lot of good RBM memories.
I'd also have to add "Robinson Carusoe on Mars" from the early '60s starring Batman himself, Adam West.

I'm still miffed that they called Evil Dead 3, Army of Darkness, instead of its original name "Evil Dead 3, Medieval Dead".
Alas.
Bruce Campbell has an autobiography out. Has anybody read it?

No, I'll have to pick it up. I'm a fan of Bruce Campbell and he seems like a genuine, humble chap in interviews. I thought Brisco County Jr. was wonderfully dark and subtle, but I suppose that's why the mainstream public didn't like it. I still watch it whenever it comes on Sci-Fi.

The Replacements, the football movie with Keanu Reeves has been on one of the 600 Showtimes (the wonders of digital cable ) every hour for the past two months. Most of the acting is what it is, but I still find myself watching the last half of it every time. I like to see the little guy succeed every now and then. And has there ever been an actor more suited to play a coach than Gene Hackman?

Bruce Campbell is a god! From Evil Dead, to Xena and Hercules, to the short-lived but hilareous Jack-of-all-Trades, and even the voice-over for a mediochre space combat PC game, Bruce Campbell rules!

Agree heartily on Bruce Campbell though I've only seen one of the Evil Dead's (not sure which one). Briscoe County was great, and Jack of All Trades was a hoot and a half.
I had forgotten about Buckaroo Bonzai, but that ranks high on the list of classic RBM's.
My kids still love me. |

In addition to all of the Mystery Science Theater stuff in my collection, here are some that I own that may make the list. Any votes for any of the following?
Logan's Run, Freaks, Daughters of Satan, Devil's Rain, Altered States, Island of the Burning Doomed, Night of the Lepus, The Aboninmable Dr. Phibes (and its sequal), Equinox, Horror at 37,000 Feet, The Frozen Dead, THX-1138, Soylent Green, ANY of the Thunderbirds movies, Five Million Years to Earth--this just scratches the surface. Also, has anybody ever heard of Coffin Joe?

Another Gamera fan?!?! I'll be damned. I didn't think there were any other "round eyes" who watched the turtle with the flaming butt.
My indoctrination came at a movie matinee in Sasebo, Japan while on Saturday liberty in the Navy. The kids were jumping up and down and yelling and cheering and having a great time. It was all in Japanese, of course, but made it more hysterical to watch.
While not qualifying as a RBM, try watching an old John Wayne western in Chinese or The Lone Ranger with Japanese voice-over.

Have done, great when sitting drunk in the barracks watching TV and the Forced Entertainment Network is beyond your ability to endure.
I spaced Buckaroo Banzai. Ice Raiders was another RBM as was Spaceballs.

Hey now. Spaceballs doesn't qualify as an RBM. Mel is a genius, so long as you disregard "Life Stinks" and the Robin Hood thing.
