That's one of my top ten favorite movies of all time. I can't believe John Carpenter made a stupid sequel to Escape from New York when he could have done another BTILC!

I'm with TD. BTILC was Kurt Russell's finest hour. That movie was begging for a sequel.

OH! You were probably talking to New Yorkers, they are a little strange anyway.

You gotta be kidding me! All the Canadians I met were trying to GIVE Quebec away. As in: "Lisa, I'm going to get another drink, would you like one? And by the way, would you like Quebec also? Eh?". Lisa

The full title of BTILC should be spoken only in hushed and reverent tones lest one inadvertently shake the pillars of heaven.
Howsumever, Kurt's finest hour was John Carpenter's "The Thing."

That means we'll be stuck with Celene (sp?) Dion. Can we throw in Geraldo Rivera and/or Jerry Springer to make the trade even?

At least Jerry Springer does not scream as much as Céline Dion. By the way about quebec, if canadian are so much willing to give quebec away and quebec is so much willing to be independant why do they stay together? I sure they in fact really need each other, quebec would be too much french without canada and canada would be too much american without quebec.

Seb, funny story here. We were vacationing in the West Indies, and a lady from Quebec told me (very confidentially, since I'm American, and there were all those filthy Canadians around), that what they'd like is to become part of France. Ed and I laughed about this later. We figure France has enough problems. The US has enough whiners too. Hey, we have a few Aussies running around this board. This contenient is tired of the bitching and complaining. Any takers? Lisa

Hmm, there are treatment centers for the drug problem you are obviously having...:)

Heyyyy! I used lived in New York City for 16 years. (uh-oh, does that mean I'm no longer invited over for beer?)
In my defense, I was born in raised in Santa Cruz, CA and have since come to my senses and moved to a small town in the Mountains of SE Arizona about 25 miles north of Mexico.
That sounded more liks Boston anyway.
BTW, BTILC rocks! The problem with Carpenter's Thing is that one can't help but contrast to the original, which wins every time ("An intellectual carrot! The mind boggles!")

Beer? You mean over to my place for beer? I don't drink.........beer! You are right about 'The Thing', most IMO orginals are almost always better, but I'm sure I'm not saying anything you don't all agree with, right? Hum, I don't remember even seeing the latter version anyway. Kurt Russell? What about 'Captain Ron'?(is that the correct name?) That was very funny.
