sorry about a new topic i couldent get the reply key to work someties it works sometimes it dosent appear .
Lars_H Skeptic Friend Germany I think, that it is by now a proven fact, that smoking can cause cancer. This does not mean that everyone, who smokes cigarettes will die at an early age of lung-cancer. The fact that some people live a long life despite being smokers, does not contradict the cancer theory
LD: hi lars! but this proven fact has not been demonstrated to me or you personally......i mean why do my parents smoke and have no health problems? ok well maybe ingrown toenails lol no but seriousy they have been smoking for 30 years and are doing fine i think they would have cancer by now..i mean if it dident contradict the cancer theory they would have cancer something cant cause something and not cause it at the same time it either gives you cancer or it dosent... you know? the only way i can see it is that it probably makes the lungs a weaker spot for disease to target if you do get diseased but is not a causer of disease on its own.. i dont see anyother possible cause.
Lars: I think that the effects of tobacco products on the human body have been studied so indepth by so many different people with different agendas, LD their agandas are total crap! not always but who are they to say, i mean goverment are caching in with taxes on smokes and i have found it to be quite documented that smokers get to be the oldest on earth....ill tell you one thing is for sure being exposed to people with menningitis is way more dangerous to your health than 10 years of smoking.. no one ever got the flu from cigarette smoke....getting hit by a car is also more dangerous to your health... the only thing i dont like is people smoking when i eat or in a car with windows shut other than that i think people are just nitpicky if they complain (no offence to anyone here) .
Lars :Comparing those few and mentally disturbed extremists with Osama's boys is mostly an act of propaganda to throw a bad light on the majority of non-violent enviromental activists and the environmentalist movement in general.
LD I totally agree!
@tomic What bothers me is the partnership the state has with tobacco companies. The tobacco companies get to produce a highly addictive product and the state gets to tax the hell out of the customers(addicts). It's a pretty sick relationship if you think about it abd how the 2 are basically teaming up to rape anyone silly enough to start smoking
LD hiya atomic i totally agree here...but you know what you just got me thinking wants wrong about addiction? addiction is not reprehensable ..killing is... assault is... i have found addiction to be cool if its not destructive and there is no substancial proof that cigarettes cause disease i go by what i see, not goverment stats...... i have smoked and quit started again and quit again.i can get smokes without tax 80% cheaper... the black market opens wide when goverment gets tyranical .whats sad is it takes money away from honnest workers and puts it in black market. :/

LARS:It is not blind trust in whoever claims to be an authority. It is trust in the scientific and medical community to not make a worldwide conspiracy against smokers.
LD: i trust no one that claims to be an undisputed authority.
I don't see how the government figures into this. The warning from the surgeon general is based on the collective findings of the world-wide scientific community. Do you think that the gouvernment controls them all?
LD:At this point of world affairs absolutly! doctors smoke im almost sure the s.g does too ;-)

I see you didn't get what I meant when I said no cross posting. It doesn't matter if you understand why or not. What you ned to understand is that cross posting, meaning starting new topics related to another topic, is not allowed.
