I recommend for anyone who is tired of the unscientific, superstitious, boring, crap that is on television lately to check out, "Scientific American Frontiers" on PBS, for a great skeptical and scientific television show.

New shows don't start until the Fall, but on the "Scientific American Frontiers" website you can watch streaming video -- or read transcripts -- of just about every "Scientific American Frontiers" program that has been archived. The programs are available to view in streaming windows media format. Each one is around 50 minutes long.

The 3 programs I recommend the most are:
Episode 1210 - "A Different Way To Heal" Debunks acupuncture, chiropractic, therapeutic touch, etc. VIDEO: http://www.pbs.org/saf/1210/video/watchonline.htm
Episode 802 - "Beyond Science" They discuss and debunk psuedo-science topics like: Miracle healing, dowsing, palm reading, Roswell, etc.
Episode 501 - "Life's Big Questions" How did the Universe begin? How did the Earth get animals? Are we alone? (An interview with Carl Sagan too.)
Enjoy.

Another good one is the one where they interview Jane Goodall. Matter of fact references to evolution without the apologies to those that might not be convinced of the evidence of evolution. This is also one of my kids favorite shows.

Ah man this is way too cool, I need to be more in touch with PBS's schedule. I am seriously pumped up for Thursday's show in Denver Life's Really Big Questions.
I think that I will have to schedule that as TV time with me and the kids.
Alan Alda, science, skepticism, evolution, argggh why haven't I heard of this before.
