Mother Jones-Stealth Christiansquote: Inside one Southern university, Christian missionaries are being trained to go undercover in the Muslim world and win converts for Jesus. Their stated goal: to wipe out Islam.
This is a very interesting story and I'm still not sure what to make of it. It certainly indicates that an "ends justify the means" approach is considered acceptable among many evangelicals. It's easy to see why they make a regular practice of accusing others, from gays to the scientific community, of having a hidden agenda. They probably assume that everyone works that way. Note also their frivolously literal approach to issues of personal honesty:quote: "Did Jesus ever lie?" In unison, the class says, "No."
"But did Jesus raise his hand and say, 'I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?'" Again, 20 voices call out, "No!"
This is another example of something I have commented on before here: fundies seem to have a lot of trouble with the idea that a misleading half truth is the same thing as a lie.

Isn't that a traing camp for religious fanatic Terrorist then? I know they are really being trained to spread the love Jesus and not terror aboard, but this is illegal in some of the more fundamental islamic countries. They are being trained how to break the law there. With everything else that is being marketed as terrorism these days one could make a good case for saying that this is, too.
I am esspescially concerned that they are going to use the guise of an international aidworker as 'cover' for their mission, like the christian missionaries in Afghanistan have done before the war broke out.
Any other approach that would not allow them to hand out their teachings from a superior position would require them to mingle among the natives, learn their customs and run the danger of being converted in return.
