This the result of no member in particular. The forum staff have been kicking it around for over a week now and today I threw the magic switch. We don't think that all discussions need to start with polls. Polls need to be well thought out to be effective and let's face it they haven't been for the most part.

This does not mean that we will not have polls. Any member can submit an idea to the moderation team and we will check it out and either validate it or send it to Valhalla for further consideration.

We will also be moving the polls to a polls only forum so that they can stand apart from the rest of the discussions. They also will not get moved to the top and shove regular discussions to the bottom when votes are cast. This is how the polls work by design but in practice can damage the continuity of a forum.

I'll vote for that!
Great ideas. It was so bothersome when a poll folder was on the front page of the website when no one really posted anything current.
