OK, which one of you is the snake guy? Filthy?

Somebody find me some more about this, pronto!

Generally speaking, the errors in religion are dangerous; those in philosophy only ridiculous.

This story of flying snakes is kind of scary. But no bibel fearing christian should feel afraid of such Quetzalcoatl myths. Afterall GOD cursed the seprent above all cattle, and above every beast of the field to go upon its belly, and to eat dust. So there is absolutly no danger of being bitten by flying or gliding snakes. This story is just part of an atheist conspiracy, that tries to make it look like the bible is not literally true.

I've seen that position taken almost every time someone points out or discovers how fallable the Bible is. Even if the person makes no mention of the Bible in their report, christian extremists look for any way to say "we're being persecuted! They're teaching our children their beliefs (i.e., teaching them reality) and not letting us force our beliefs on others. To fix this, only our beliefs should be taught." I paraphrased, but you get the point.
Strangely, I don't find Biblical literalists insisting that the kidneys are the seat of conscience and spirituality and the heart is the center of thought and emotion. Few argue that the Earth is flat, but the few that do are too many. So most literalists are only pseudoliteralists. But they're very dangerous, nonetheless.

Never having read the bible I don't know what that story is about. It's stupid whatever it is. Snakes are wonderful animals.
BTW, the most poisionous snake is the sea snake so if xians should be afraid of anything it's when they get baptized.

Thank you, thank you. Of all the snake books I have not as many of them are on S.E. Asian snakes. That site was cool, with the moving pictures.
Thank YOU.
As a side note. When I 1st got on the web, one of the 1st things I did was try to find info about snakes. I think there were 3 web sites about them. It's amazing how the Internet has grown. Now there's no time to find them all. And thank you again. I really love snakes.

Don't know if this means anything to your question but in Asian folklore dragons, serpents and snakes are sometimes interchangeable.

I can't explain. I either read it somewhere or saw it on a PBS show long ago. I never remember sources. I was going to give the example of a story where the Buddha was once protected from evil forces by a snake but I looked up some web sites maybe they can give you a better idea of what I'm trying to say.
