This is from the New Mexicans for Science and Reason Website. It seems that maybe someone asked him one too many questions during one of his seminars? (I really don't have a clue; no motive or details of the assault were forthcoming).
In truth, it's probably some wimpy thing; he may have been accused (remember, he's not been convicted!) of lightly slapping someone. Even something as minor as that can count as an assault, and someone just cried mama. (I'd much rather see a full-fledged brawl, though. Show him for what he is, in that regard, anyway.)

What can you say about Dr Dino? It's not terribly surprising to me. I remember him always being loud and obnoxious regarding his views. That next step isn't surprising.

Aw, crap! Not only did I have a mis-spelling in my original post, but it turns out that James beat me to this news  . (See his post in "Religion", Kent Hovind arrested.)
He in turn, got it from James Randi's web site. Nothing like being beaten by two Jameses. Then again, it's good that this news is getting out!

Gould and Sagan aren't in hell - we are. That's why we're subjected to people like Hovind and Kacey. They're demons sent to torment us.

Now, keep in mind that you need not actually touch someone to get busted for assault.
Here's the legal definition:
"Any action that causes a person to feel in danger of his or her own life is an assault."
Now, if he had attacked someone, it would be battery. I'm keeping an eye on this case.
