Went to the Ontario Science Centre here in Toronto on Sunday, along with Meagan, my 10 year old. Walking in we passed an exhibit of various rocks from different earth periods, ranging from about 4 billion years to the present. One of them, precambrian in origin, had a structure in it that looked remarkably like a shoeprint. I joked with her about fundies, explaining that there were actually people in this world who would cite that as evidence of biblical truth.
In a ‘stage whisper' heard by many around us, this sweet, beautiful, innocent looking young girl muttered, “Assholes!”.
Monica and I didn't know whether to shit, cry, or laugh, but I almost managed all three.
