I thought I'd share this with ya.

'Divine intervention' diverts Etna lava
By Bruce Johnston on Mount Etna
(Filed: 27/11/2002)

quote:
The sweat of emergency workers and the intervention of God were credited yesterday for halting only yards from a complex of buildings on Mount Etna.

I think we can give all the credit to the workers. Unless, of course, Mt. Etna is onother of God's, little jokes: "Gotcha! - I wuz just foolin', fellas."

The lava was still warm.

You don't say....

You know, I was stationed there in Siciliy, 20 minutes away from Etna. The damn thing blows up every year. Hell you can go up there any day of the week and see lava flowing. (Throw a quarter in, it's kinda neat.)

That ski village (if you can call it that) they are talking about was ruined I believe less than 10 years ago. You gotta kinda expect that, you know, put buildings on an active volcano, it's pretty much inevitable that they are going to get flooded from time to time.

I would be a little concered if it made it to Nicolosi. That's a really cool town with this nice resturant and bar I like.

How come you never see a headline like this?

God kills 200 sleeping african villagers by releasing a cloud of toxic gas. Vatican official are at a loss to explain why the Almighty chose to smite the village. Said a Vatican spokesman:

"Sometimes it is difficult to understand why God chooses to kill certain people and spare others. This would have made more sense to me if he had smited Las Vegas or San Francisco. I guess he's saving them for the tribulation. Anyway, I'm sure God had a perfectly good and loving reason for killing all those villagers."

Ah, Espritch, I think that was the old book. In the new book, God don't play those games no more. He's got the Devil to do his dirty work.

That's easy,<insert sarcasm> its because God is peaceful and doesn't allow violence, so it can't possibly be his fault, it must be the devil.<end sarcasm> Or perhaps something like that could be the fault of the free conscience of the person who would do things like that. Saddam<cough, cough>

Kevin, Why aren't you here at school?

Well, these Christians are the ones who cry and cry when a ship like the titanic goes down, even if they don't know anybody, but couldn't give a rat's ass if a ship full of slaves, or people from another country went down.
They only care about other christians, or europeans, and couldn't care less about people from africa.
