And Newton said, "y'= lim h->0 of [f(x+h)-f(x)]/[(x+h)-x], thus, Calculus was born, and Newton saw that it was good. |

Because of this, I just may leave the country. I wonder if Canada will take me? I mean, the education has to be an improvement over the kaka the findies want taught in our schools. |

It isn't completely hopeless. There's some people over there, who seem to be on "our" side: Neoplato, BelieverQ, (the biggest contributers by far), RWB#1, Lobo, Martinm, buddyh, ohnoitsOtto, ,the_ignored (ReadOnly--don't ask) and maybe a few others I can't think of right now. See the http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?s=d410b0bf1d8ff84f1915bce135a450f7&threadid=56981 and http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?s=d410b0bf1d8ff84f1915bce135a450f7&threadid=55762 topics and some others. They even get away with posting atheist and evolutionary links. I don't know why I couldn't. Maybe because I was too "blatant" for a particular moderator's taste. I will also note that occasionally some of them do reign in the others when they start ragging on atheists too much, although it seems few and far between.
I will grant though, that they are REALLY outnumbered on that site!! Maybe the odds should be evened up some? |

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.
Another example of this guy's lunacy here. |

I know Martinm and budddyh. Both extremely intelligent. I think Martin wanders over here occasionally. Don't piss him off. Very biting wit. |

Posted by Hobbes quote: I'm terrified for the future of quality science teaching in this country.
I understand the sentiment. It seems that kids are being taught less science today than I was twenty years ago. For some reason, the teachers seem afraid to teach evolutionary theory, or they simply refuse to. I would not be surprised if this is a tactic of some organizations like the Christian Coallition, or the Eagle Forum or any of the others. Maybe, when I have more time, I'll check out the latest tactics of the religious right.
By the way, hobbes, what is "RR?" A web site, perhaps? |

Tim, RR means "Rapture Ready." These guys are heavily X-ian, and as a result, won't accept views other than their own. I keep away from their out of concern that I might get afflicted by their narrowmindedness. |
