Once again, Snake is displeased.

Would like to know why movies in this case the 'The Bourne Identity' is being promoted without mentioning that it's a remake. I hate when they do that.

The latest version of Ocean's 11 starring George Clooney was basically a remake, if you include in that just taking the title, characters, and the stroyline and ripping it out of the original. IMO, Clooney's version is much better than the original.

SNAKE ALERT!!!
Mr. Deeds is a remake of Mr. Deeds Goes to Town a Frank Capra flick from 1936 starring Gary Cooper.
Adam Sandler plays the Gary Cooper role---I'm staying home.

But they never ever say that a movie is a remake. At least they didn't change the title as is sometimes the case.

Never? Sure they do, at least they used to.
Yea, changing the title is another problem.
There was a big deal made about the Warren Beaty film. Ah, can't remember the name of either remake now....where he's Mr. Death. Hum, was the original 'Death Takes a Holiday'? It was remade more then once and there was some confussion about it. That name was changed but it was brought out that it was a remake. That's only one example. Another comes to mind, Judy Garland, 'A Star is Born', Barbra Stresiend, version, they couldn't very well NOT say that wasn't a remake. So there are times that there are comparisons, don't say never.

Since I've seen the original more times then I can count, and don't plan to see the other one, thanks for telling me what they did.
The story really isn't the same? Hum! Oh Well. I don't see how it could be better, too bad I'll never know.

I hadn't heard about that one. I've never seen Adam Sandler but in commericals for his other movies, they didn't seem very funny or anything I'd want to see so I doubt I'd go to this new one either. Thanks for the alert, though.

No song and dance bits. At least, not from the starring cast.

Yeah, the Warren Beaty film was Heaven Can Wait which was a remake of Here Comes Mr. Jordan from 1941 and had nothing to do with 1943's Heaven Can Wait. Unlike his 1994 Love Affair which was a remake of An Affair to Remember (1957) which was in turn a remake of Love Affair from 1939. Sheeesh! No wonder his sister believes in reincarnation.

LOL, good one Slater.
Thanks for the movie history. I hadn't seen any of them, only heard about it, that's why it wasn't clear in my mind, but yes that was it. Thanks.

Ah damn! EOEleven is a great song and Sammy Davis Jr. was so wonderful in the real 'Ocean's Eleven'.
