Sylvia Browne, the (in)famous ‘psychic', is having a live chat on MSN on Tuesday July 10. Details can be found here;

Now as many of you know she agreed a few months ago to a test by the inimitable Jim Randi, but has thus far failed to go through with it. Details on that can be found here;

Whaddayasay we all turn up at the chat and challenge her on it? I've never been in on a ‘chat' before (much preferring the interior of dingy bars for such pursuits) but this could be interesting. My guess is that we will see a lot of, shall we say, ‘deflection'?, by Ms Browne and her handlers at MSN, but hey, who knows?

Cool. Why don't you ask her about how people in the afterlife travel around on land speeders. Or that the afterlife is exactly 3 feet above our own.
Or how about her prediction the aliens will reveal themselves in 2010, and altlantis will rise up in 2023.

Went through the torture of reading that thing for a friend on a message board. At the time she still believed in psychics, but we've cured her of that. (sylvia's failed prophecies helped too)

Oh my. This is so tempting. On one hand, it would be kind of like hanging out in a fundie chat room, where I know I would not be welcome, so it's something I wouldn't do. On the other hand  , there is something about that smug little fraud that really brings out the worst in me. (Or the best, guess depends on where you're standing). Massive hand-wringing here. What to do what to do? Guess I could look at it as free entertainment if Tuesday night is looking dull.

So what happened? Did anyone here attend the chat? I fully intended to, but was called into work. Didn't get home til nearly 2200.

I dipped on that one too unfortunately. My 9 year-old begged me to come and watch her horse-back riding lesson. Tough choice that; spend an evening pestering a dingbat, or make a lovely little girl happy. (dabs eyes with Kleenex and sniffs)
Actually I should have notified Mr. Randi himself, and he could have called her. Now THAT would have been fun!

Hmmm. You spent time with your kid. I earned a little extra beer money and stood around BSing with the neighbors. Sounds like we both ended up giving Ms. Browne the exact amount of attention she richly deserves.
