As Dr Shari is an MD, the Hippocratic Oath sould count for something... I'm surprised that so many of you appear not to consider this.

I don't know if I'm prepared to die for anything. Sacrificing my life is out of the question, I'm going to live forever, or die trying.
I am not prepared to give up my life (and this might seem egoistic, but that's the way I am) for anything or anyone unless I'm 100% sure that my sacrifice will be remembered and revered for generations. This is because I believe that I still have important things to do in my life. Things that are important no only to me but to others as well. What this is I do not know yet, but I have this feeling that I am meant to do something more than I have thus far, so I'm sticking around to find out what that is.

And just who means for you to do this?

You are right, I like that idea, as I am an egotist myself. I want what I do to live on. But I think by saying I would die for someone, or rather put myself in danger trying to save someone I love is actually saying I couldn't live with the pain of loosing them should they die (and I didn't try as much as I could to save them).
And for a long time I've already had thoughts of suicide because of living with the pain of loss.
As for the talk about killing, I don't know how that subject started, it's not what Doc 1st asked about.

I don't know. Does there have to be one?

Okay. I thought the word meant implied that someone had some purpose for you. Some job for you to do. If you had meant you had your own purpose, I would have thought you would have said that you want to do certain things, rather than you were meant to do certain things.

No matter either way.
