Robert, if you'd like a different perspective concerning the the origin of the Old Testsment, you may enjoy 'The Bible Unearthed' by Israel Finkelstein & Neil Asher Silberman. Through archaeology, Finkelstein & Silberman present an entirely different theory of Biblical origin, and the history of Judah. It's an easy and informative read, but no one says that you have to agree with them.

I'll tell you where the burning bushes have gone. Didn't you hear about the recent case of a fish in a New York fish market speaking with the voice of GOD to some orthodox Jews? The Great Spirit has decided that fish are much more credible than combusting shrubs.

Hi, BorderCoyote! Welcome!
I wonder why an omnipotent god would need a bush, or a fish, or anything else to speak? Is he/she/it just playing games with us?

I think that the original burning bush was a trick staged by Moses to impress the unwashed and assure that his term in office would continue uninterrupted. It worked pretty well, too. It continues to work today.

And I already thought hearing my sweetwater jellyfish talking to me was a dream.

But beware, it's not any fish! It is goddish, so it is spelled Fish with a major "f".

I found the talks about God quite interesting. If you ever find a talking burning bush please someone let me know. Concerning evolution they have these bones from like way back in the days and they say that those are the bones of man. Lets keep it real here, you all know as well as I those are stright up monkey bones, don't even try it! I'll stick with my beliefs of God and ride it out. If anyone is ever interested in giving God a chance in there life email me at Jowara1@juno.com and I'll get you started in the most simple way.

Can I quote you on this? I mean, presumably you've done the necessary research to make this determination, yes?

Yeah, "beliefs of God" make great shock absorbers against the washboard road of reality.

Howzabout I just ask God hisownself? That work for you?

Umm, which bones might these be? There are a great many from many, differing locations, covering a very long period of time. And which species of monkey, baboon, ape, lemur, marmoset, or tarzier, et al did they come from? There's a great many of those, in many, differing places, too.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I read that story. The fish market owner still turned the "holy" fish into gefelte. A great marketing ploy, though. Story was from 3/14/2003.
