I'm of the opinion that bringing homeless drifters into one's home when one has children is much more stupid than noble.

Is Mr. Smart guilty of child endangerment, and secondarily responsible for the kidnapping of his daughter?

But come one TD, he was preaching the word of Jeeezuuus, and anyone who preaches the word of Jeeezuuus would never harm anyone. [/sarcasm]

It makes a person wonder how they came by their family name.

I don't think it's child endangerment in any legal sense. Who knows, maybe it should be but it is definately not bright. Perhaps a background check at the very least would be a good idea. Mr. Smart would probably have had second thoughts if he had.

I would be curious to hear the reason for hiring the sort of people Mr Smart did. Was it to "do a good deed" or was he just trying to save a buck? If he was just trying to save a buch the man's a complete idiot. OK, he's an idiot either way.
